In his letter Suski refers to an article in "Newsweek" about a legal conflict between a company owned by Grad’s family and Azoty Tarnów. PiS MP then elaborates on this. In his parliamentary question he wrote that Azoty Tarnów “abandoned the attachment of payments (…) against Mieczysław Grad (who is the Minister’s brother) amounting to 1,686,304.68 along with interest.” “On 24 October 2006 the District Court for Tarnów issued an order for payment, which it then rescinded on 3 April 2007. For the past year and a half Azoty Tarnów has abandoned the claim of its dues towards the family of the Minister of Treasury (…) Taking into account that the Ministry of Treasury supervises state companies and Azoty Tarnów is one of them (…) and that the president of Azoty Tarnów is one of the most trusted associates of Jerzy Marciniak (…), there is a justified suspicion that Minister Grad is not impartial. This situation is a clear conflict of interests,” states Suski in his parliamentary question.

The PiS MP also poses a different question: "Was this abandonment of action for several months in order to execute payment (…) from the company belonging to the Grads related to the fact that the brother of the debtor, i.e. the Minister of State Treasury holds an important government post? The letter will be sent to the Prime Minister today or tomorrow," said Suski to “Wprost”.
The Treasury Ministry spokesman says that Aleksander Grad feels innocent. "Everything took place according to the law. The case has already been explained anyway," said the Ministry spokesman Maciej Wiewiór to “Wprost”.
