"When I became part of the authorities in the club, I made my chances in the rivalry with Schetyna smaller. In comparison with me, Gowin, who will be aside writing the ethical code, is in a far better position. In the political sense he turned out to be much more clever and put himself in a much better position, but everything will redound to him. In these still uncertain times, PO activists expect loyalty from us," claims Palikot. He also explains why he decided to take the position of the club’s deputy president. “A situation in which Schetyna were the president of the club and I were to be an independent reviewer would be much more convenient for me. Technically, when Gowin declined the offer, I could have done the same. But what would the whole situation look like then? First I decide to do it, I agree to help in pulling in Gowin, and then change my mind? We would have dissed Schetyna and I did not want this to happen’ says the MP of PO.
