"I can only say that the arrangements are still being made," Ministry spokesman Robert Rochowicz said to “Wprost”. Once the list is prepared by Klich and Szczygło, it will be passed to Lech Kaczyński and Donald Tusk for signing. “It will be just a formality. I do not think that the President or the Prime Minister would have any objections to the decisions made by their associates,” said a Ministry official.

If an agreement is reached, it would be the first time that Lech Kaczyński and Donald Tusk’s government have not quarrelled about general’s nominations. Last year it came to as many as three conflict situations over this issue. On 3 May the President accepted only 4 out of 15 government’s proposals, on 15 August – 8 out of 12, and on 11 November – 7 out of 14.
