"Men will never be better drivers than women because they are too focused on rivalry and they get irritated much more easily", said Krzysztof Hołowczyc, rally driver and Member of the European Parliament. “Most men are putting themselves at greater risk while driving, because they dream of becoming another Robert Kubica”, added Natalia Kowalska, who is the first Polish female driver to compete in Renault 2000 Northern European Cup. “Men often treat driving as a way of releasing their inhibitions,” said doctor Adam Tarnowski, psychologist and head of Postgraduate Studies in Transport Psychology at Warsaw University.

So why do women behind the wheel have such a terrible reputation, though they cause less accidents? It is mainly their own fault. A survey by Chrysler shows that as many as 68 percent of men consider themselves better drivers than their female counterparts, and only 49 percent of women think that they are equally good at driving as men. Only one in four women (26 percent) feels she is better at driving than men.
